Research Scientist, Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory and Department of Biology, Colorado State University

Biography: Uffe received his Ph.D. entitled ‘Influences on species richness and composition of belowground communities at multiple spatial scales’ from University of Aberdeen, Scotland, in collaboration with the Macaulay Institute and Center of Hydrology and Biology in November 2008. Currently his research at CSU continues elucidating patterns of, and mechanisms underlying, soil biodiversity and community composition belowground, whilst also trying to establish and quantify potential links between soil biodiversity and belowground community composition with ecosystem functioning and ecosystem services. He is also more broadly interested in large-scale ecological theories, and trying to establish patterns across multiple ecosystem types (i.e. do ecological theory hold across dissimilar ecosystem types including soils?).
