  1. Travis McDonald and Cameron Fyfe joined the lab as NSF REU researchers.

  2. Melissa Plakke and Matthew Frahry joined the lab as NSF REU researchers.

  3. Becky Chong was awarded a NSF Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant for the project entitled “Impacts of metabolic differences on cytonuclear coevolution”.

  4. José Lopez was awarded a 2012 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.

  5. The Mueller lab welcomed postdoc Mersee Madison-Villar in Jan 2012.

  6. Rachel Mueller and Becky Chong recently attended the American Genetics Association annual symposium on Genomics and Biodiversity in Guanajuato, Mexico.

  7. José Lopez was awarded a Graduate Student Research Award from the Society of Systematic Biologists Spring 2011.

  8. José Lopez was awarded a Grant-in-Aid of Research from Sigma Xi 2011.

  9. Mercedita Madison-Villar was awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biology. Mersee will join the lab from U.T. Arlington.

  10. The Mueller lab welcomed postdoc Cheng Sun in March, 2011.

  11. Becky Chong was awarded a Grant-in-Aid of Research from Sigma Xi.

  12. The Mueller lab welcomed José Lopez in Fall 2010.

  13. Rachel Mueller was awarded an NSF grant for the project entitled “Genome evolution in plethodontid salamanders: Molecular analysis of genomic gigantism”

  14. Becky Chong was awarded a Graduate Student Research Award from the Society of Systematic Biologists.

  15. Graduate student Becky Chong received a honorable mention in the 2010 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program.

  16. Becky Chong recently returned from the 2010 Bodega Applied Phylogenetics Workshop held at the Bodega Marine Lab in California.

  17. Nick Jones has graduated with his BS.

  18. Don Shepard has arrived from the University of Oklahoma and CUNY Staten Island.

  19. Becky Chong attended the Ecological Genomics Symposium hosted by Kansas State University.

  20. Rachel Mueller and Becky Chong attended the Guild of Rocky Mountain Ecologists and Evolutionary Biology (GREEBS) annual meeting  at the Mountain Research Station near Niwot, CO.

  21. Rachel Mueller, Rachel Schwartz, and Becky Chong presented at the Evolution meetings held at the University of Idaho, Moscow. 

  22. Rachel Schwartz was awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Bioinformatics from the National Science Foundation. 

  23. Becky Chong attended a workshop on Estimating Species Trees at the University of Michigan.  Her trip was supported by a Grant-in-aid from the workshop.

  24. Graduate student Becky Chong was awarded a Women in Natural Sciences research grant to support her upcoming field season.

  25. Jessica Borden defended her honors thesis.
