My research focuses on subalpine plant responses to climate change.  I'm particularly interested in how forb species in the Rocky Mountains will be affected by warming and increased nitrogen (from agriculture and pollution).  In the Rockies, nitrogen collects in the snowpack through the winter until snowmelt, when it is released into the system in a large nutrient (fertilizer) pulse.  Since snowmelt timing is expected to change as the climate changes, I am interested in how the altered timing of the nutrient pulse will affect subalpine plant communities.  When I'm not collecting data, running stats, writing, teaching, or grading, you'll usually find me shenaniganizing in some way, shape, or form.
