Hale TufanI was born and raised in Ankara, Turkey. I went to a public elementary school and to a French immersion Turkish Junior high and High school. Deciding that CSU was the best school for me, I applied and was accepted this past fall. I am an equine science major with hopes of getting into vet school some day. I hope to then graduate and have practice in Europe and Turkey. Currently I’m working on testing for homozygous transgenic plant lines for the APS R gene. I really enjoy working with Dr. Elizabeth Pilon-Smits and Dr. Marinus Pilon as it is a great opportunity to learn about plants, their metabolism and lab skills in general. I found out about the lab being in Dr. Pilon-Smits’ BY 102 class, and started working towards the end of January. My passions are animals-horses in particular. I have three French horses back home that I love and miss a lot. In my spare time I ride horses, ski when I can and read. I love to go out and have fun, enjoying company of friends and family. I also love to travel to different places and meet new people. I adore Turkey not only because it’s my homeland but also because it is so beautiful. |
