SALAH
E. ABDEL-GHANY
I graduated with my Ph.D. degree in Botany at Colorado State University, Department
of Biology in March 2001 under the supervision of Dr. A.S.N.Reddy. My Research
project focused on cloning, characterization, and phylogenetic analysis of a calcium/calmodulin-regulated
microtubule-binding motor protein, KCBP, from photosynthetic organisms.
I have worked in the Pilon lab at the same department as post-doc Researcher since
August 2001. Projects in our Lab are focusing on metal homeostasis and transport
within plant cells. My interest is to look for gene(s) that is (are) involved
in metal co-factors transport, especially copper, in higher plants, especially
to the chloroplast.
Originally, I am from Egypt where I have an academic position as assistant professor
at Zagazig University, Faculty of Science, Department of Botany, Zagazig.
