BZ441 is an upper level botany lab focusing on plant physiology. Students should take BZ441 at the same time as (or after) BZ440 (Plant Physiology lecture course). The objective of BZ441 is for students to learn how plants function and how plant physiology is studied.
Target groups are junior/senior students majoring in Biology/Botany, Horticulture, Soil and Crop Science, Forestry, Rangeland Ecology, and related areas.
Graduate students are also welcome. The class meets one time a week: Wednesday 2.10 - 5 p.m., in 211 ChemBio.
TEXT & WEBSITE
A lab manual is available on the BZ440/441 website.
The final grade will be based on one final exam (25%), lab reports (40%), lab quizzes (25%), and in-class participation (10%).
If you miss a lab, you will need to do a 2-p literature review writeup instead. You can miss no more than 2 labs.
The grading scale is as follows:
90-100%: A 70-79%: C < 60%: F
80-89%: B 60-69%: D
No curving of grades is expected (unless the class final grade average is below 75%).
If anything is not clear, ask me or your lab instructor. You can email me or visit me in A/Z E413. Either drop by, or make an appointment.
